Apricot Sorbet is part of my “LA in a Scoop” series celebrating the immigrant communities of Los Angeles. As an immigrant who grew up in Azerbaijan, I experienced war and trauma with neighboring Armenia. Apricots are symbolic to the Armenian people. This dessert is my olive branch and gesture of appreciation to the Armenian community of LA, especially my new friends who stopped by my shop for heartfelt conversations about reconciliation in our embattled Caucasus. May our region see lasting peace and prosperity.
